About the Role: We are looking for a SITKA® Gear Designer to join our Apparel team, in a non-associate contract position. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing the brand’s value proposition and aesthetic vision to life through the design execution of seasonal concepts.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for apparel design execution that supports consumer insights, seasonal framework and key business objectives.
Collaborate closely with cross functional design team to ensure a cohesive design language and consistent aesthetics cross the entire collection.
Present designs, incorporating relevant trend information, to effectively communicate style intent and line relevance.
Partner with development team to identify fabrics that meet design intent and margin goals.
Create initial detailed sketches for tech pack generation.
Partner with development to identify and/or design necessary trims for new styles.
Create color ups and assist with seasonal color merchandising.
Support team with artwork pages, CADS, Tech packs, and sketch updates.
Sample reviews and revision in line with Go To Market process and Apparel Key Events Calendar
Required Qualifications:
10+ years experience in Men’s Apparel Design (Or Equivalent experience), with a
focus on technical outdoor and lifestyle apparel.
Proven ability to lead the creative design process, set a creative tone, and inspire new concepts.
A demonstrated consumer-centric approach, understanding both current and prospective customers and providing consumer-right concepts and designs for both.
Innovative and adaptive thinker with strong problem-solving skills in a rapidly changing environment.
Excellent collaboration and influencing skills.
Strong understanding of color and patterns (Plaids and prints), with the ability to direct and support execution.
Ability to translate seasonal inspiration into commercial designs.
Understanding of how product costing, materials, and general patternmaking influence final design execution.
Drive for innovative concepts while also creating commercially viable products.
Excellent presentation skills.

Expert knowledge of the Adobe Suite

Take brand directive from the Retail Experience Manager and execute all creative, merchandising, and marketing needs in the store
